I get asked this question quite frequently and this is the main reason I created my review page of the best supplements for fat loss or muscle gain.
Some years back, I was just an average Joe that was asking left and right other people that seemed like they knew what they were doing.
The question “what supplements should I take, mr. x?” was pouring from my mouth almost daily and I was also searching the internet for answers.
The thing is that nobody really seemed to point me in the right direction.
Well, I always had this question in the back of my mind: why is everybody telling me different stories and recommends me different supplements when I ask them the same question?
Nonetheless, the answer was simple after a few years of time and money wasting and also after having some nasty side effects of some “thermogenic” supplements which caused me palpitations, difficulty with breathing, stomach aches and many more symptoms of which I don’t really remember.
Well, I get angry towards our dear internet for the same reason: when you look around for good supplement recommendations, it seems like everybody is promoting all kind of supplements but no one really took the time to analyze their ingredients, available research, other people’s experiences or really taking their own hands and use it to report the results.
Everybody is promoting something nowadays!
Be it a super diet, a magic pill or some sort of advertising, usually appearing to the right of your screen, showing you a before and after animated picture that should make you click it.
You know… those pictures that you see daily: the first picture is of a headless animated big belly man and after like not even a second, his belly disappears and an arrow with some message appears.
That click should get you to a page where you should find the answer to all your fat loss prayers… almost 100% of the time, not the case.
Because they don’t want to give you the answer or they don’t know it.
They want you to keep coming back searching for an answer and keep getting their products.
Well, I am here to change that (I am not making this up) and that’s why I made this page, explaining what to get and why along with resources that will take you to where you can get them at the cheapest price (from where I usually get mines).
What Supplements Should I Take – The List
After many years of reading, researching and using most of the ingredients and supplements I could get my hands on (I am not implying that I used all the supplements in the world – I don’t afford that and I don’t have the time to test them all alone), I created a big pyramid containing the supplements that are actually working and will give you a performance boost in the gym along with helping you put on muscle mass while bulking or maintaining it while cutting.
1. At the top of the pyramid we have protein powders because I consider protein being the most important part of anyone’s diet.
Without adequate protein intake you can’t gain muscle or lose fat at an optimum rate.
Click the head pyramid to go to the page where I listed the top products and my preferred options and why:
2. Vitamins and minerals supplements (along with fish oils and some nice “secret” recommendations) – getting adequate amounts of micronutrients in your diet is a must if you want to optimize all the processes of muscle gaining and/or fat loss along with maintaining a healthy micronutrient nutrition.
Keeping your vitamin levels optimized in your body is a must if you are training because you have increased micronutrient requirements and getting them exclusively from your diet is almost impossible (I mean, who takes the time to calculate how much vitamin A,B,C,D, etc. gets daily and tries to optimize the % to be on track?).
Click the image to go to the page where you will find my top choices:
3. Pre-Workout Supplements – this is self explanatory and I detailed on that page all of the pre-workout supplements that work (no BS), along with their ingredients and why they are working.
Click on the image to go to the specific page where you will find the best pre-workout supplements:
4. Muscle Recovery And Growth Supplements – these supplements will give you the long required gym performance boost and they will help with recovery (I use all of them from this section and believe me, the results never start coming)
The same as with the other 3, click the image bellow:
I hope I answered your question “what supplements should I take and why” and if you still have any questions left, please use the comment section bellow or send me a hit on the contact form.
I’m here to help you.
